Sedation Dentistry in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Our primary aim is to aid in the management of anxiety and pain of our patients. Sedation dentistry is the answer for many people, some requiring extensive dental work and others with moderate-severe anxiety. Sedation dentistry is an effective and safe way for people to have access to all types of dental procedures who would otherwise not be able to have the dentistry they need.

Candidates for sedation dentistry include people who:

  • experience moderate to severe anxiety
  • had difficulty in the past with local anesthetics working on them ("getting numb")
  • find it difficult or uncomfortable to keep their mouth open for prolonged periods of time (TMJ problems, other medical problems)
  • difficulty controlling their gag reflex
  • need allot of dental work to be performed and little time to speed at the dentists office

Specific instructions will be reviewed with you by our staff before any course of treatment is started. However if you plan on being sedated some general instructions before any sedation include:

  • take all medications as usual unless otherwise instructed by the doctor
  • do not eat or drink anything six hour before your appointment
  • arrange for an escort to and from the office
  • fill all prescriptions given to you by the doctor (antibiotics, pain medications) prior to your sedation so after any treatment you can return home and relax with your new beautiful smile
